Job Summary:    

NexGen is currently seeking a Microsoft Azure Integration Services Developer who would be responsible for application, API, and integration development, using Azure Integration Services and Microsoft .NET. You will be working with a multi-disciplinary team that includes project managers, business analysts, and subject matter experts. You and the team design, develop, implement, and maintain all solutions and communicate your progress with stakeholders.  This is a remote position with occasional on-camera meetings.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (as assigned):    

  • Assist in defining and reviewing requirements and use cases for the application. 
  • Use the business process requirements to drive out application requirements and metrics. 
  • Perform the detailed design of application and technical architecture components to meet the business process design and application requirements. 
  • Validate the design with stakeholders and participate in quality management reviews to ensure that the application design and related work products satisfy the requirements. 
  • Implement software requirements using Azure Logic Apps. 
  • Configure, build, and test the application or technical architecture components. 
  • Work with other staff to make sure that the configuration and custom components meet application requirements and performance goals. 
  • Follow good security coding practices to ensure the application is free of most common coding vulnerabilities. 
  • Participate in code reviews. 
  • Participate in transitions of the application or technical architecture components to the testers. 
  • Fix any defects and performance problems discovered during testing. 
  • Inform the technical architect and project manager of any issues that may affect other areas of the project. 
  • Provide application/technical support as needed. This may include installation of application releases into production. 
  • Review and understand work plan. 
  • Create technical and functional/end-user operational documentation for the software or system. 
  • Plan and execute all required process steps as defined in our methodologies. 
  • Anticipate, identify, track, and resolve issues and risks affecting the software or system. 
  • Meet milestones and related effort/time commitments for assigned deliverables and provide work status, including estimated-time-to-complete (ETC) and actuals.  
  • Other duties may be assigned.    

  

Technical Skills:    

  • Demonstrable skill in building application integration using Azure services using the following Azure services: 
  • Azure Logic Apps 
  • App Service 
  • Azure Functions 
  • API Management 
  • Service Bus 
  • Event Grid 
  • Azure SQL Database 
  • Azure Storage 
  • 4+ years of experience in a software development role particularly with ASP.NET MVC/Core application and API development. 
  • Proficiency in C#, SQL, front end development using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and JQuery. 
  • Skill in unit test, automation, or test-driven development. 

  

Desired Skills (Preferred but not required):    

  • Azure DevOps CI/CD Pipelines 
  • Azure Cosmos DB 
  • Azure Data Factory 
  • Azure AI Services 
  • Microsoft Role-Based Certifications 

  

Education:     

  • Bachelor's degree in IT/Software/Computer/Information Sciences, or Engineering, or Mathematics or any equivalent experience. 

  

AdditionalRequirements:    

  • The successful candidate will also be able to pass background screening prior to employment.   
  • US Citizenship, or legal permanent residence, or US work authorization with minimum 3 years of continuous US presence is required due to federal contract requirements.   

   

Physical Requirements:    

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.    
  • Must be able to consistently use a keyboard, mouse, computer, and other office productivity tools.    
  • Must be able to communicate and exchange accurate information in person, over the phone, and on and off camera with videoconferencing tools.    
  • Must be able to observe details at close range to assess document accuracy and to identify discrepancies in documents and data.    
  • Must be able to convey information clearly and effectively to team members and clients.    
  • For remote positions, a minimum standard internet speed for optimal performance of 50 x 25 (50 mbps download x 25 mbps upload) is required.    
  • For remote positions, a dedicated workspace, free from ongoing interruptions, is required to protect sensitive but unclassified federal information.       

  

Compensation: $55 per hour to $75 per hour  

(The successful candidate's starting pay will fall within the salary range provided and is determined based on job-related factors, including, but not limited to, the experience, qualifications, knowledge, skills, geographic work location, and market conditions.)
